Format:
9 days workshop (invitation only) at McMaster University followed by a one day Open Symposium at the Fields Institute (Symposium schedule).

Overview:
Information Geometry consists of the application of differential geometrical methods to the study of families of probabilities, both classical and quantum, either parametric or nonparametric. Much of the work in its quantum version has been concentrated on manifolds of density operators for both finite and infinite dimensional quantum systems and their associated monotone metrics, alpha connections, quantum entropies and projection theorems.

While quantum information has always been a motivation for the geometric study of quantum state spaces, this activity will bring together leading experts in quantum information geometry with a common interest in the application of geometric techniques to specific problems of quantum computing, such as quantum estimation, quantum channel entropy, quantum noise and entanglement and quantum algorithms. At the same time, it aims to review the existing different trends in order to establish a unified framework for further research into the differential geometric properties of quantum state spaces in general.
