FieldsLive Video Streaming
Viewers anywhere in the world can watch Fields lectures live or on demand.
- Personalized views allowing one to zoom in on specific areas of the blackboards or screens, to see small details even in an era before high-bandwidth internet and high-definition video streaming, and
- Interactive remote participation (speaking and asking questions remotely) without any of the special equipment usually required in that era.
Live Streaming During the Pandemic
While the Institute's buildings are physically closed, events are being held by zoom video-conferencing, with speaker and participants all in different remote locations. Links to the video conference are provided to registered participanrs. After the event, videos are generally available on our video archive just like pre-pandemic FieldsLive videos.
FieldsLive 2.0
The next generation of FieldsLive video streaming willl take advantage of today's high network bandwidths and browser capabilities to provide personalized view layouts and interactive participation with high-definition auomated capture once regular in-person events resume on premises.
Zoom videoconferencing, with manual videography, will continue as we gradually merge the two types of lecture delivery during the transition back to in-person events.
