February 25-27, 2011
Representation Theory and Quantization Workshop
to be held at the Fields Institute, Toronto (map)
|
Workshop Organizers:
Ivan Dimitrov (Queens University) and Hadi Salmasian (University
of Ottawa) |
Background and Rationale.
The purpose of this network is twofold: to foster collaboration
among Lie theorists and to increase the visibility of our subject
within the larger mathematical community. An annual workshop held
in different cities in Ontario plays a major role for achieving these
goals. The first one was held in February 2010 at Carleton University
attracting about 30 participants at various stages of their careers.
In addition, in the last few years the University of Ottawa has hosted
three Lie days with a number of speakers from across Canada, the United
States, and Europe. The second annual Network of Ontario Lie Theorists
(NOLT) will be held at the Fields Institute in February 2011.
Structure of the workshop.
The workshop begins on Friday, February 25, at 11:00 a.m., and
ends on Sunday, February 27, at 12:30 p.m.
