Skewed Statistical Models and Applications

Hamilton Hall,McMaster University
May 16, Room 217 & May 17, Room 207
Organizer
N. Balakrishnan, McMaster University
Registration
Regular $75, Students $50, Retired Faculty $50
Registration includes coffee, lunch (at the University Club) and dinner (at the
Ancaster Mill).
Registration amount may be paid through a cheque drawn in the name of
McMaster University, and given to Professor N. Balakrishnan before the
event.

Program
Directions to McMaster
Aim and plan of the workshop:

The aim of this event is to have six well-known experts on skewed models to present overview one-hour talks (providing detailed reviews of developments on specific aspects of skewed distribution theory). In addition, a one-hour presentation on the recently developed R-package for the fitting of skewed models is also planned.
The first day event is planned for the benefit of the graduate students and junior researchers to understand and appreciate these developments in the skewed-models literature.
The second day, some discussions are planned on open problems and areas for further research. This will take the form of an informal discussion to pose some problems that people could consider for further research.

Confirmed presenters:
Adelchi Azzalini, University of Padua
Marc Genton, Texas A&M University
C.J. Adcock, Sheffield University
Bruno Scarpa, University of Padua
Giuliana Regoli, University of Peruggia
Paul McNicholas, University of Guelph
Tao Tan, McMaster University
