In recent years there has been a great deal of success in applying methods of analytic number theory to questions of arithmetic geometry. This program will focus on three topics: o-minimality, heights, and "efficient congruencing". The first two topics have been very useful in attacking conjectures regarding "special" points such as the Andre-Oort conjecture, or more generally the Zilber-Pink conjecture, while the third establishes the Hasse principle for certain varieties associated with translation-dilation invariant systems at the threshold of the convexity barrier. 

Along with the graduate course on Diophantine Problems in Number Theory, we expect to offer additional mini-courses throughout the Program.

Funding Requests

Registrants are welcome to apply for funding to attend Program workshops and/or for short-term visits (two weeks or less) at any point during the semester. Applications for more than two weeks will also be considered.

Funding is contingent on the availability of funds.

Who Is Eligible

Participants who may need funding to attend the Program or its workshops.

Priority will be given to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career researchers.

Applications from US-based participants are encouraged.
