Abstract:
Classifying tetrahedra satisfying certain geometric conditions leads to number-theoretic problems, some of a familiar type, such as solving a multivariable polynomial equation in roots of unity, and some that are unsolved unlikely intersection problems in search of a framework. This is partly based on joint work with Kiran Kedlaya, Alexander Kolpakov, and Michael Rubinstein.
