Graduate Course on Descriptve Set Theory, Borel Relations and Dynamical Systems
Description
**Please note date and time change - Class originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 19th, has been changed to Thursday, November 21, 2002 @ 10:00 am**
The course will cover the essentials of descriptive set theory beginning with the basic elements of the theory and finishing with topics of current interest to researchers in the field. In particular, special attention will be be focussed on material relevant to the study of Borel relations and their classification.
The two week introductory course will cover some of the prerequisite material. In order to understand effective descriptive set theory some background in recursion theory is necessary.
