Communications and Monographs
Two Fields Institute book series published by Springer
Overview
The Fields Institute publishes two book series, the Fields Institute Communications and the Fields Institute Monographs. Publications in both series often result from activities at the Institute, but we encourage all authors of books to consider publishing with us. Our publishing program with Springer affords authors the advantages of wide distribution and advertising, high quality, digital versions, and a guarantee that all volumes will remain in print indefinitely. Occasionally, other volumes such as The Coxeter Legacy and Turbulent Times in Mathematics: the Life of J.C. Fields and the History of the Fields Medal are published by the Institute separately.
The Communications Series consists of conference proceedings of research and survey articles. The Monograph Series features high-quality research monographs and lecture notes in mathematics and applications of mathematics in science, engineering, finance, industry and medicine. From 1993 to 2011, 61 Communications volumes and 28 Monographs volumes were jointly published with the American Mathematical Society and are available through the AMS online bookstore. Since January 2012, these book series have been published with Springer.

Information for Authors of Monographs
Initial inquiries about publishing in the Fields Institute Monographs series should be made to the Managing Editor or any member of the Editorial Board.
Authors are requested to send us a book proposal, and if possible, a sample chapter, for consideration and evaluation by the Managing Editor and Editorial Board. Normally, Monographs should have between 150 and 650 pages. After preliminary acceptance of the proposal, authors should send us a more complete version (possibly a final or close- to-final draft) of the manuscript to be sent to referees appropriate to the area of the work for final approval. Please consult the Springer guidelines for Book Authors and Editors for details about manuscript preparation, including the use of the Springer macro package.
After final approval, the Fields Institute will arrange for a Consent to Publish form to be signed by the authors. Springer will then contact authors with a request for the source file for the finalized manuscript and related information.
The authors of a published Monograph receive a total of 6 complimentary copies. If there are three or more authors, each author receives 2 copies. Royalty payments are fifteen percent of the Publisher's net sales. In addition, any author can purchase copies of any Springer publication at a 33% discount.
