Workshops on Mathematical Thinking in the Classroom (Kingston)
Description
The objective of this one-day workshop is to bring a community of interested teachers together to talk about ways to enrich student (and teacher!) experience in high school mathematics. A significant objective in the English classroom is to develop the students’ imaginative capacities. That’s also a great objective for mathematics but my feeling is that this requires a richer set of examples and activities. At each workshop, I will talk briefly about our experience in constructing such activities and working with them in Grades 10, 11 and 12 and hope that this will generate an active and critical discussion.
This workshop is also being offered in Toronto and Ottawa. See links on the upper right of this page for details.
Registration for each workshop is included in one registration form, which can be found at the upper right hand corner of this page. Please select which event(s) you will be attending in the checkboxes at the bottom of the registration page.
