Presentation Proofs and how to Improve Them
Description
Please note this event has been cancelled.
The Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) at York University invites you for an engaging one-day workshop on effective communication. Being able to effectively communicate your thoughts and ideas is a valuable and important skill for any student. Moreover, it is also essential to their future career success, whether they pursue a career in academia or industry. In order to facilitate the development of this skill, students will present a talk and receive constructive feedback from experienced researchers and the audience. And throughout the day they will get the opportunity to work on improving their talk with the help of the mentors. Furthermore, we will have a keynote speaker deliver an address on how to write and effectively present a talk. Which will be followed by a discussion group which considers different aspects of giving an effective versus ineffective talk.
This event is suitable for people in early stages of their careers.
Join us for an inspiring, interactive day full of presentations and discussions on effective communication.
