The Canadian Symposium on Fluid Dynamics (CSFD), which commenced in 1974, has played an indispensable role within the Canadian applied mathematics community. In 2024, it will proudly mark its 50th anniversary. This significant event will coincide with the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS 2024) conference, scheduled to run from June 24 to June 27, 2024, at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. The CSFD is custom-tailored for researchers in applied mathematics, engineers, and biologists, offering a platform for the exploration of diverse facets of fluid mechanics. Topics span from theoretical inquiries in partial differential equations to computational and numerical challenges. This year's CSFD activities will be complemented by those at CAIMS 2024.
