NSERC CREATE-MIPPH Professional Development Event
Description
The inaugural NSERC CREATE-MIPPH Professional Development event will be held at the Field Institute for Research in Mathematical Science on October 16, 2026.
This one-day event will feature two professional development modules taught by Dr. Nathaniel Osgood, focusing on the science of team science and participatory and community-based modelling. Each module will be followed by a distinguished talk from an industry partner, presented by Thomas Shin and Dr. Kamran Khan.
The professional development modules form part of the training requirements for CREATE-MIPPH trainees. The event is also open to students and faculty from all universities, as well as research scientists, industry professionals, and policy and decision-makers from government and other organisations.
Participation is free, but registration is required.
Format
The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation. In addition to CREATE-MIPPH trainees, up to 20 seats will be available for in-person attendees. Due to limited capacity, these seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of registration.
Please indicate your preferred mode of attendance when registering. Participants attending virtually will receive a Zoom link following registration.
