The focus of the workshop will be on Monte Carlo methods (mostly Markov chain methods) that have been used effectively in statistical physics and/or statistics, and which are based on ideas that seem to be widely applicable. Speakers have backgrounds in physics, statistics, and probability, and the programme is intended to promote discussion across these disciplines. The emphasis will be on new methods, practical applications, and analysis of methods.
