Description

Beginning with the development of L² cohomology (Cheeger) and intersection cohomology (Goresky-MacPherson), there has been great interest in extending the analytic and geometric triumphs of manifold theory to stratified spaces, where subtle interactions between local and global topology arise. The workshop will focus on recent advances and open problems in these areas.
