I will review the result of Riedel that says that every simple finitely generated dimension group with a unique state is ultrasimplicial. The proof involves explicitly constructing a sequence of positive integer matrices using a multidimensional continued fraction algorithm. This approach is similar to that used by Elliott and by Effros and Shen in their earlier results.
