Abstract:
Minimal surfaces in a three-manifold can be viewed as generalization of geodesics on a surface, and they are fundamental objects in geometry. I will talk about some (non)existence, (lack of) uniqueness and parametrization problems related to minimal and constant mean curvature surfaces in some classes of hyperbolic three-manifolds.
