I will give an introduction to the recent work of Contreras, Kandel, Mnev, and Wernli on a functorial definition of quantum scalar field theory on graphs. I will discuss their gluing theorem for Green's functions and determinants of Laplacians on graphs, which is based on Atiyah-Segal-like gluing of (spacetime) graphs. Several examples will be presented.
