We describe the geometry of coarse convex hulls in a coarse median space. We use this to derive a distance formula, when the space comes equipped with a family of maps to hyperbolic spaces. In particular, we recover a number for results obtained for hierarchically hyperbolic spaces, by somewhat different methods. Our arguments proceed by reducing the results to combinatorial statements about cube complexes, which may have some independent interest.
