The vexing question of heat transport scaling in Rayleigh-Bénard convection is naturally, but not easily, investigated by direct numerical simulations of solutions to the equations of motion. In this talk we survey some of some computational studies aimed at measuring Nusselt-Rayleigh number relation over orders of magnitude required to study various theoretical conjectures.
