In order to motivate the concept of the quotient of a manifold by a Lie algebroid, I'll interpret [M/TM] as a "space of infinitesimal simplices" in a manifold M. Then I'll try to describe the tangent and cotangent complexes of [M/TM] using intuition about deformations of infinitesimal simplices. If I succeed, I'll use the remaining time to generalize from TM to other Lie algebroids over M. (This talk is meant to provide intuition for Section 3.2 of Pym and Safronov's "Shifted symplectic Lie algebroids".)
