Forecasting PPE demand for Ontario acute care hospitals during COVID-19
Beate Sander, RN MBA MEcDev PhD, is an internationally recognized leader in infectious disease economics with extensive expertise in health economics and simulation modeling. Dr. Sander holds a Canada Research Chair in Economics of Infectious Diseases and is principal investigator of several multidisciplinary projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and other funders, including an evaluation of Zika virus interventions using computer simulation. She has developed novel approaches to evaluate intersectoral interventions and pioneered research on the burden of infectious diseases in Canada. Dr. Sander has received several awards for research excellence. She contributes substantively to federal/provincial policy decision-making, serving as an expert to national and international advisory bodies.
