The behaviour of the delbar operator on a complex manifold with boundary depends on the geometry of the boundary. In this talk we will review this relation and show its importance by discussing holomorphic versions of the tubular neighbourhood theorem. Then we'll move on to recent work on generalizations to the context of complex Lie algebroids.
