I will give a few talks introducing the basic elements of generalized geometry. In the first talk, we will begin with the generalized tangent bundle, including its canonical inner product, Courant bracket, and symmetries. We then introduce Dirac structures and show how they interpolate between foliations, closed 2-forms, and Poisson structures, but also include new objects. Finally we describe generalized complex structures and how they interpolate between complex and symplectic structures.
