Abstract:
In this talk I will report on joint work with Gareth Jones on the classical Weierstrass elliptic functions.
These functions are used to construct uniformization maps of elliptic curves and their extensions by (commutative)
linear groups. We give explicit definitions of the graphs of these functions in terms of Pfaffian functions in the
sense of Khovanskii, that do not depend on the curve. I will also talk about applications of these results to problems
of unlikely intersections and related topics.
