The OAME Talks Podcast and Webinar series has launched! This series will feature voices from the OAME annual conference. The podcasts will be available to the general public but the webinars will only be available to OAME members. Podcasts will launch on the first day of the month and webinars will be live on the second Wednesday of the month. OCMA: The OCMA will be hosting a PD day at Mohawk College centred on making math accessible to all learners. We'll look at challenges and solutions for web-based mathematics, tools used in accessible media production, and creating classes according to UDL principles. We'll explore these topics across the

The planning for the OCMA's Annual Conference in May in well under way. Through 2 keynotes, 15 faculty presentations, and several publisher events, we'll be looking at how we as college teachers put on the Greatest Math Show in our classrooms every day. MKN: Coordinator Update -- It is with very mixed emotions that we share that our MKN Coordinator, Melanie Langemeyer, accepted a new role at the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship Centre as the new Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator, which commenced in November 2018. Melanie was a key member of our team, and we wish her the very best in her new role.
Our new MKN Coordinator is Arielle Figov. Arielle is a CA, CPA with a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University. She comes to us from the private sector where her most recent role was an Accounting Manager. Arielle can be reached at afigov@fields.utoronto.ca .
CoP Update -- Over the past few months our Communities of Practice (CoPs: Mathematics Leadership, Computational Thinking, Critical Transitions, and Indigenous Knowledge) have shared many new resources including reports, video series, and many more. Most recently, our Mathematics Leadership CoP reported on three events in which our partners and members participated since the start of the new school year: OAME Leadership Conference , JUMP Math and Western University conference , and Ministry of Education professional learning virtual meetings . Our Computational Thinking in Mathematics CoP Iain Brodie shared two new resources discussing artificial intelligence and modelling civilization in the classroom: Cast a Wide Net at St Andrews PS, TDSB: AI, robotics, coding, math, social studies and Modelling Civilization at St Andrews PS, TDSB: Coding, Making, Math . And, our French Critical Transitions CoP and AFEMOproduced and published four French videos about the 6th/9th year critical transitions. CME: This year's "First-Year University Mathematics Across Canada" conference is at University of Alberta, Edmonton, 3 - 5 May 2019. Program and schedule TBA within a few weeks.
