Short Talks: Varieties of Mathematical Outreach
Each speaker will provide a brief 10-15 minute overview on the experience of mathematical outreach in their respective context. These introductions are intended to provide Forum participants with ideas for questions to pose after the Lunch Break. Chris Wu is an experienced mathematics educator who has been actively involved in running the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) summer mathematics camp at York University. His work focuses on inspiring young students through engaging mathematical experiences outside the regular school year. Paul King is a seasoned teacher specializing in both mathematics and computer science within the Peel District School Board. With a strong commitment to student engagement, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge in fostering computational thinking and mathematical understanding in his classroom. Julia Liu teaches mathematics at Danforth Tech, where she also leads a Math Clinic to provide additional support and enrichment to students.
