Abstract:
Quantum-enhanced spectroscopy is a newly developing field focusing on the use of quantumoptical measurement techniques for enhanced precision in measurements of the absorption and phase response of a given sample. Spectroscopy is performed using strongly correlated photon pairs and singlephoton detection, which allows the measurement sensitivity to surpass the shot noise limit. Equivalently, these methods allow for measurements with the same precision as traditional techniques but with a lower optical flux, which is useful in minimizing the optical damage to the sample.
