In this talk we will discuss about some modifications of characteristic functions

and the quotient space constructions of quasitoric manifolds to produce locally standard torus orbifolds over nice manifolds with corners. We then apply these constructions to build equivariant cobordisms of locally standard torus orbifolds. This talk is based on a joint work with Soumen Sarkar.
