Time Series Approaches to Compare Covid-19 Mortality in the Province of Ontario, Canada, Across Three Epidemic Waves
Abstract: We investigate potential methods for the modeling and comparison of the daily number of new hospitalizations and daily deaths in Ontario, from April 2020 to May 2021, as time series outcomes. ARIMA models suggest that the short-term influence of the past hospitalizations and deaths varies over the waves. Cointegration analysis confirms that the third wave has hospitalizations and deaths most strongly related.
