Abstract:
It is well known that the roots of a random polynomial with i.i.d. coefficients tend to concentrate near the unit circle. This phenomenon is universal; it is independent of the coefficient distribution. In this talk, I will discuss a generalization of this universality phenomenon to random sums of orthogonal polynomials.
