[All advanced undergraduates and grad students welcome!] How do you choose from many different options when you don't have all the information? In this expository talk, we will analyze a model for this situation known as the "multi-armed bandit" problem. We will look at applications of this problem to Netflix shows and Google DeepMind's AlphaZero AI, which has achieved superhuman play in games like Chess, Shogi and Go.
