Abstract:
Single-cell genomics technologies have developed rapidly over the past decade, allowing neuroscientists to measure the molecular states of single neurons at unprecedented scale and detail. I will introduce the methods, and highlight several of the challenges that must be overcome to grapple with the geometry and topology of "the space of cells", as well as the opportunities for discovery afforded by tackling the mathematical challenges.
