Abstract:
In this talk, I will present experimental evidence regarding the development of lying in children from 2 years of age through adolescence. I will also showcase some of the key social-cognitive-neural factors that contribute to the development of lying. In addition, I will discuss cutting edge lie-detection methods using biological measures and the associated challenges, which may offer a collaborative opportunity between mathematicians, psychologists, and bioengineers.
