Workshop on Wave Transport of Ionic Species
Description
This workshop will be concerned with the mathematical modelling of the transport of ions in biological media on the cellular scale. Wave transport is an inherently unsteady process and so understanding the unsteady dynamics of ions propagating through cells is critical to any consistent modelling effort. Participants will have the opportunity to present their latest work and ideas on related topics. During round table discussions, participants will discuss future challenges related to the ultimate goal of obtaining and using detailed knowledge of the unsteady solution of the transport equations on the cellular scale to derive continuum equations on the macro-scale that can describe wave propagation.
