Risk and Insurance Studies Centre (RISC) Forum 2019
Description
Microinsurance (MI) is often labeled the next revolution in insurance. MI has witnessed an explosive growth over the last decades in developing countries, covering nearly 500 million low-income individuals in 2011. Yet, the current outreach of MI is far below its estimated global market potential of 4 billion people. What is this exclusion due to? Is it because of self-imposed constraints, or as a result of credit and institutional barriers, market imperfections? Is there a role for MI to play in developed countries? Can MI become a game-changer for achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals? RISC Forum 2019 addresses all of the above by bringing under one roof internationally renowned scholars and influential practitioners.
