Mini-symposium on Materials and Periodicity
Description
This mini-symposium will link mathematicians studying the rigidity of periodic structures with soft matter physicists analysing the microstructures of materials through advanced imaging techniques. Recent developments in modern geometric and topological techniques are beginning to illuminate important features of material structures, and the analysis and prediction of their macroscopic properties are creating new theoretical questions for motions of periodic structures.
